Pomeroy’s Package Battles His Way To Score Friday’s Feature

Oceanport, NJ- Robert Reidy’s Pomeroy’s Package sat just to the outside of pacesetter Dreaming of Neno before taking the lead at the top of the stretch and scoring a length and three quarters victory in Friday’s $30,000 allowance optional claiming feature at Monmouth Park.
Trained by Mario Serey Jr. and ridden by Trevor McCarthy, Pomeroy’s Package covered the five and a half furlongs over the fast main track in 1:03.22 and paid $12.40, $3.00, and $2.10. Dreaming of Neno held on to complete the $21.80 exacta as the 1-5 favorite and paid $2.10 and $2.10. It was another 3 ¾ lengths behind the top duo to Ackeret, who paid $2.60 to show.
The 5-year-old gelding by Pomeroy out of the Honour and Glory mare Il Vino Bianco notches his second career win at Monmouth and improves his lifetime record to 4-5-4 in 21 starts, good for earnings of $166,420.
