Perry Back in Winner’s Circle After NHC Qualifier Victory

Handicapping contest fixture Joe Perry of Hamilton, N.J. is headed back to the National Horseplayers Championship after taking Monmouth Park’s $250 NHC Qualifier on Saturday, Nov. 30.
Perry bested a field that included 156 entries. He turned his starting $150 bankroll into $1,258.35 by betting races from Aqueduct, Gulfstream and Tampa Bay. Contest players could only bet win, place and/or show and needed to bet a minimum of $15 per race.
By finishing first, Perry takes home the first-place cash prize of $4,500 as well as a seat to this year’s NHC in Las Vegas. Second-place finisher Michael Samples also is headed to Vegas.
Monmouth Park’s next handicapping contest is coming up on Saturday, December 28. The $300 NHC Qualifier will feature Gulfstream Park, Aqueduct and Tampa Bay and award three seats to the 2020 NHC in one of the country’s last NHC qualifying opportunities of the year.
