Kenny Peck Captures First NHC Qualifier Victory

Kenny Peck of Fair Lawn, N.J. is headed to the National Horseplayers Championship for the first time after taking Monmouth Park’s $250 NHC Qualifier on Sunday, Oct. 20.
Peck bested a field that included 117 entries. He turned his starting $150 bankroll into $1,284 by betting races from Monmouth Park and Woodbine. Contest players could only bet win, place and/or show and needed to bet a minimum of $15 per race.
By finishing first, Peck takes home the first-place cash prize of $2,550 as well as a seat to this year’s NHC in Las Vegas. Second-place finisher Patrick Grippo also is headed to Vegas.
Monmouth Park’s next handicapping contest is coming up on Saturday, November 30. The $250 NHC Qualifier will feature Gulfstream Park, Aqueduct and Tampa Bay and award two seats to the 2020 NHC.
