Fazzolari Puts On a “Show” to Win $500 NHC Qualifier

Monmouth Park held a $500 NHC qualifier on Sunday, June 13 and Nick Fazzolari of Colts Neck, NJ finished in the top spot.
Fazzolari bested a field that included 79 entries. He turned his starting $250 bankroll into $3,171.50 by betting races from Monmouth Park, Belmont and Gulfstream. Contest players could only bet win, place and/or show and needed to bet a minimum of $25 per race.
Heading into the Gulfstream Park finale – the last race of the contest – Fazzolari was well-positioned with a bankroll of $1,057.50. He elected to go all-in, placing a $1,057 bet to show on the eventual race winner.
By finishing first, Fazzolari takes home the first-place cash prize of $4,000. Along with second-place finisher Greg Knepper, third-place finisher Suresh Bommanaboina, and fourth-place finisher Dave Conover, Fazzolari earns a seat in the 2022 National Horseplayers Championship in Las Vegas.
