Cettina Defends Home Turf at Last Chance NHC Qualifier

Monmouth Park’s final handicapping contest of 2017 was held Saturday, December 30 and the winner was local contest fixture Roger Cettina of Rumson, NJ.
Cettina bested a field that included 188 entries. He turned his starting $150 bankroll into $3,688.35 by betting races from Gulfstream, Aqueduct and Tampa Bay.Contest players could only bet win, place and/or show and needed to bet a minimum of $15 per race.
By finishing first, Cettina takes home the first place cash prize of $5,000. In addition, because he is already a double NHC Qualifier, earns an additional $2,500 in lieu of an NHC seat.
Second-place finisher Frank Sorensen and third-place finisher Stephen Luca will be joining Cettina in Las Vegas for the 2018 NHC.
