Boat’s A Rockin Blazes To 2 1/2-Length Score In Saturday Night’s Featured Starter Allowance On Monmouth-At-Meadowlands Card
October 05, 2024
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Boat’s a Rockin used his blazing early speed to break to the lead out of the gate and was never headed, cruising to a 2½-length victory in Saturday night’s featured starter allowance on the Monmouth-at-Meadowlands card.
A 7-year-old gelded son of Red Rocks, Boat’s a Rockin recorded his 14th career victory – all on the turf.
Trained by Brandon Kulp, the MJ Racing Stable runner was ridden by Samuel Marin, who won three races on the six-race all-turf program.
The winning time for the five furlongs over a turf course listed as firm was :55.75.
Boat’s a Rockin, the even-money favorite in the field of six 3-year-olds and up, never got into the expected early speed duel with 6-5 second choice Smithwick’s Spice. He broke quickly and faced only token challenges throughout, returning $4.20 to win.
Capture the Time was second, a nose better than Outlaw Country in third. Smithwick’s Spice was a non-threatening fourth.
The all-turf Monmouth-at-Meadowlands meet resumes with a six-race card on Friday, Oct. 11. First race post time is 7 p.m.
