Monmouth Park held a $300 NHC/PYP qualifier on Saturday, May 11 and Andrew Phillips of Neptune, NJ, finished in the top spot with a total of $3,072.

Phillips bested a field that included 138 entries. He turned his starting $150 bankroll into the winning total by betting races from Belmont, Gulfstream and Monmouth Park.  Contest players could only bet win, place and/or show and needed to bet a minimum of $15 per race.

By finishing first, Phillips had his choice of prize. He picked a seat in the upcoming June 1 $2,000 Pick Your Prize Handicapping Challenge (also gets a June 2 contest seat) and takes home the first-place cash prize of $4,600. Second and third-place finishers Terry Flanagan and Tim Hughes are headed to Vegas for the 2025 NHC. Fourth-place finisher Alexander Calzi will join Phillips at Pick Your Prize.
