PDJF Charity Party After The Races At Blu Grotto
June 06, 2017
The Monmouth Park riding colony will go from boots to bartenders this Friday night as the Beer Garden at Blu Grotto hosts the first ever PDJF Charity Party starting at 6 p.m.
“It’s a great event for an even greater cause,” said Brian Skirka, marketing manager at the racetrack. “Fans can come out and meet their favorite riders, have a beverage and support those in need.”
The Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund (“PDJF”) is a 501(c)(3) public charity that provides assistance to former jockeys who suffered catastrophic on-track injuries. To date the fund has disbursed more than $7 million to former riders.
Friday night’s event will feature great drinks, food, raffles and live music. Admission to the PDJF Charity Party is free with all tips going to the PDJF.
During the afternoon, Monmouth Park will host an 8-race live racing program. Gates open at 11:30 a.m., first post at 12:50 p.m.
