Toodelirious Wins In Career Debut For Trainer Chad Brown During Saturday Night’s Monmouth-At-Meadowlands Card

September 21, 2024

Toodelirious became a winner at first asking, sitting an ideal stalking trip behind two dueling leaders before pulling away in deep stretch to win the $36,000 maiden special weight feature by 1½ lengths on Saturday night during the second evening of the Monmouth-at-Meadowlands meet.

Trained by Chad Brown and ridden by Paco Lopez, the Irish-bred daughter of Sottsass was an eager three-wide in the early stages of the one-mile race as Stillthinkingofyou and Aranciata battled head-to-head on the lead through early fractions of :23.42, :47.96 and 1:11.98.

The winning time over a turf course listed as firm was 1:36.16.

Force of Law rallied for second, 2¼ lengths ahead of Subsidy, the other Brown-trainee in the race.

Toodelirious paid $5 to win as the favorite in the field of seven 2-year-old fillies.

All-turf racing during the Monmouth-at-Meadowlands meet resumes on Friday, Sept. 27.

First race post time for the six-race card is 7 p.m.
