Monmouth Park’s $500 Monmouth/Saratoga Handicapping Challenge on Saturday, August 3 was won by Dane Kelly.

Kellys’ $3,925 bankroll was best of 229 total entries and landed Kelly a first prize of a Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge seat and $11,445.

In total, Saturday’s contest awarded two BCBC seats, two seats to the National Horseplayers Championship and $27,250 in cash.

Contest players could participate online using TVG/4NJBETS, Xpressbet and on-site at Monmouth Park. All players needed to wager a minimum of $250 on five Monmouth Park races. All Saratoga races were available as optional plays. Available wagering pools were win, place, show, exacta and daily double.

Monmouth Park’s next live-money handicapping contest is Saturday, Aug. 24. That contest sports an $800 buy-in ($400 entry fee, $400 bankroll) and consists of races from Monmouth Park and Saratoga. Players may participate online through TVG/4NJBETS and Xpressbet or on-site at Monmouth Park. On-site players are eligible for a 25% cash prize bonus.

While all mandatory races in the Aug. 24 contest are from Monmouth, the entire Saratoga card will be available for optional plays. Based on 200 entries, the prize pool will consist of four BCBC seats, three NHC seats and $25,000 cash.

In order to participate in the Aug. 24 contest, all TVG/4NJBETS players must pre-register with Brian Skirka by Friday, Aug. 23 at 3 p.m. Eastern. Skirka can be reached at bskirka@monmouthpark.com or 732-571-6595.

Xpressbet players can register with Skirka or directly through Xpressbet up until first post on Saturday, Aug. 24. On-site players can only register day-of from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
