Lam Surges To Travers Day Contest Win

Monmouth Park held a $500 NHC/BCBC qualifier on Saturday, August 27 and Phil Lam of Fresh Meadows, NY finished in the top spot.
Lam bested a field that included 149 entries. He turned his starting $250 bankroll into $4,327.05 by betting races from Monmouth and Saratoga. Contest players could only bet win, place and/or show and needed to bet a minimum of $25 per race on 10 total races.
By finishing first, Lam takes home the first-place cash prize of $6,425 and also earns a seat in the 2022 Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge. Saturday’s second through fourth finishers earn cash and a seat in the 2023 National Horseplayers Championship in Las Vegas.
