Ocean Township, N.J. Resident Filoso Bests Field of 99 To Win Sunday’s $300 NHC Qualifier

Monmouth Park held a $300 NHC qualifier on Sunday, June 5, and Lou Filoso of Ocean, N.J., finished in the top spot with a total of $1,441.50.
Filoso bested a field that included 99 entries. He turned his starting $150 bankroll into the winning total by betting races from Monmouth Park and Belmont. Contest players could only bet win, place and/or show and needed to bet a minimum of $15 per race.
By finishing first, Filoso takes home the first-place cash prize of $4,925. Filoso also won a seat into the 2023 National Horseplayers Championship. Second-place finisher Eddie Fitzsimons will be joining Filoso on his NHC trip.
