With two days of racing remaining at the 2013 Monmouth Park meet, the races for top owner and trainer are coming right down to the wire.

Through 59 of the 61 live cards, Jorge Navarro tops the conditioner ranks with 44 victories, three more than Eddie Plesa Jr.  Navarro has three horses entered on Saturday and four on Sunday.  Plesa has a pair on each of the cards.

The owner’s race is currently dead-locked with Red Oak Stable and High Point Thoroughbred Partners on top with 17 wins apiece.  Red Oak has two each on Saturday and Sunday while High Point has three entered on Saturday and none on Sunday.

The jockey’s race has been a foregone conclusion for quite some time as Paco Lopez will easily score his second riding title in Oceanport.  Lopez, who was top jock in 2010, has 93 winners, nearly 40 more than his closest competitor.

Following Monmouth’s live card on Sunday, Oct. 6, Thoroughbred racing shifts north to the Meadowlands for 10 all-turf cards beginning on Friday, Oct. 11.
