Jockey Gabriel Saez will miss one month of racing action after being unseated by his mount To Dare Is to Do during the running of the seventh race at Delaware Park on Wednesday afternoon.

“It’s a hairline fracture right near the elbow,” said Cory Moran, agent for the 25-year-old jockey.  “We’re told it will be a month.  He’ll rest between now and then and resume riding at Gulfstream Park.”

At Delaware on Wednesday, Saez was on the lead during the maiden special weight turf event when his mount veered in sharply at the top of the straight, unseating the rider.

A native of Panama, Saez was spending his first full season at Monmouth Park, having booted home 54 winners through last Sunday’s card, good for third in the overall jockey standings.
