Julian De Mora’s Circular Rainbow rallied from off the pace before drawing clear late in the lane to capture the $42,000 allowance/optional claiming feature at Monmouth Park on Friday by five lengths.

Trained by Jorge Navarro and ridden by Pedro Cotto Jr., Circular Rainbow returned $5.40, $3 and $2.20 as the 8-5 favorite in the field of six fillies.  Pacesetter Atthispointintime completed the $22.80 exacta and paid $4.20 and $2.60.  It was another four lengths back to Jennie Says So, who paid $3.20 to show.  The time for six furlongs over a sloppy main track was 1:11 4/5.

A 3-year-old by Circular Quay from the Holy Bull mare Rainbow Wish, Circular Rainbow has won three of her 11 lifetime starts.

Live racing continues at Monmouth Park on Friday, July 12 – gates open 11:30 a.m., first post 12:50 p.m.
