East Rutherford, N.J. – After getting squeezed back at the break, Rustler Hustler inched his way closer to the lead throughout the allowance/optional claiming feature at the Meadowlands on Saturday before grabbing the front in the lane and drawing off to a three-quarter length score.

Trained by Patricia Farro and ridden by Chris DeCarlo, Rustler Hustler covered the mile over yielding turf in 1:40.43 and returned $5.80, $3.40 and $3 as the favorite in the field of seven colts and geldings.  Screenplay completed the $28.80 exacta and paid $4 to place and $3.60 to show.  Gimme Credit was another 3 ½ lengths back in third, good for a $3.20 show mutuel.

A 4-year-old colt by Ecton Park from the Cozzene mare Cozzy Temper, Rustler Hustler posted his third win this season and sixth lifetime in taking the Big M feature.

Live racing continues at the Meadowlands on Friday, Oct. 26 – gates open 11 a.m., first post 2:15 p.m.
