Oceanport, N.J. – Ed Rosen and Roseland Farm Stable’s Visionary Ruler took command soon after the break and reported home a decisive length and three-quarter victor in the $60,000 Jersey Juvenile Stakes at Monmouth Park on Saturday.

Trained by Bret Calhoun, Visionary Ruler covered the six furlongs over a fast main track in 1:12.46 and returned $9.40, $5.40 and $3.20 in the field of 12 2-year-old New Jersey-breds.  Dancing Lion completed the $117.60 exacta and paid $12 and $5.  It was another length back to post-time favorite Irish Politics, who paid $2.60 to show.

“He did everything, all I did was not fall off,” said winning jockey Chuck C. Lopez.  “He broke in just a little bit, but as soon as I angled him and he straightened out he took off on his own.  He had plenty left at the end.  This is a very nice horse.”

Visionary Ruler, by Pollard’s Vision from the Langfuhr mare Empress Gracie, was bred by his owners.  Saturday’s score was the second in three starts for the colt, who broke his maiden last out on Aug. 12 at Monmouth.

Live racing continues at Monmouth Park on Sunday, Oct. 7 – closing day of the 2012 race meet.  Sunday is Fan Appreciation Day with free general parking, free Grandstand and half-price Clubhouse admission.  Gates open at 11:30 a.m., first post 12:45 p.m.
