Oceanport, N.J. – Mid-Atlantic Thoroughbred Investments LLC’s Just Chillin Boss took control out of the gate before setting fast fractions and stopping the timer in a course record time of :54.66 for five furlongs over firm turf at Monmouth Park on Friday.

Trained by Ramon Moya, the winner rattled off the first quarter mile in :20 4/5 before reaching the half in a blazing :42 3/5.  Sent off the 1-2 favorite in the field of nine, Just Chillin Boss paid $3, $2.40 and $2.10 across the board.  It was a length and a half back to Tanzana, who completed the $16.60 exacta and returned $5.80 to place and $3.40 to show.  Quite a Dude was another length and three-quarters back in third, good for a $3.80 show mutuel.

“This is a very good horse,” said winning jockey Elvis Trujillo.  “It was as easy as it looked.  I didn’t even have to ask him.”

A 4-year-old gelding by Sweetsouthernsaint from the Prospectors Gamble mare Aleutian Gold, Just Chillin Boss scored for the third time this year and fourth lifetime in taking the Friday feature.

The old course record of five furlongs, with the portable rail set out 24 feet (Monmouth Course), was established by Lakes Tune, who ran :54.73 on Aug. 17, 2007.

Live racing continues at Monmouth Park on Saturday, Aug. 25.  Gates will open at 11:15 a.m., with the first simulcast race from Saratoga’s Travers Day program set for 11:35 a.m.  Monmouth’s first post is 12:45 p.m.
