The $60,000 Revidere Stakes is slated for this Sunday at Monmouth, and trainer John Servis believes that it is a great chance for his entrant Zenzara to improve in her second start on the turf. Zenzara is coming off of a third place finish at Pimlico (May 17) where she was beaten by a length and a quarter after hitting the top of the stretch as the last of seven.

“She’s doing great,” said Servis, “it took her a while to get used to the turf her last time out, but once she got acclimated she took off. She was coming really hard at the end.”

A 3-year-old daughter of Medaglia d’Oro, Zenzara boasts two wins, and has finished in the money in all but one of her six career starts for owner Michael Rainier. She and the remainder of the female field will travel a mile and a sixteenth in the Revidere on Sunday, and Servis believes that Zenzara’s positioning will differ from her last outing.

“We’re hoping for an honest pace,” Servis said. “If it’s not too quick she won’t be as far out as last time since she’ll be more comfortable on the grass.”

Jockey Stewart Elliot will be aboard Zenzara in the Revidere, which goes as the 11th race on a 12-race card on Sunday
