Trainer Eddie Plesa Jr. will send Sailinginforthewin into Saturday’s $60,000 Crank It Up Stakes, her first race since breaking her maiden last out on May 18. Sailinginforthewin went gate to wire in a maiden special weight event on Monmouth’s main track that day and will go 5 ½ furlongs in her first try over the turf Saturday.

“I thought this was a good opportunity to try to get her some black-type,” said Plesa. “I know she’s quick. It doesn’t matter if it comes off, she can run turf or dirt. The only question will be how many are in there and how much speed will be to her inside.”

A 3-year-old filly by Mizzen Mast, Sailinginforthewin has already earned $32,400 in three starts for owner Live Oak Plantation.

Elvis Trujillo, who leads all jockeys in the standings thus far, will get the call aboard Sailinginforthewin in the Crank It Up, which is scheduled as the 10th race on an 11 race card Saturday.
