feature will showcase New Jersey-breds travelling one mile over the turf
course, one of them set to bring a nice turf pedigree along for the ride.
“He ran really well in his only try on the grass,” said
trainer Pat McBurney of his feature race entrant Elegant Lord. “He has a nice turf number and we were
excited to get him to try the turf. I
hope we’re as excited after Saturday’s race.”
In his lone turf race, Elegant Lord waited until the far
turn to make his move and came with a quick acceleration through the lane,
beaten just a half-length for it all in a runner-up effort. That race was against open company. He heads back to face fellow New Jersey-breds
on Saturday several of which he has faced in the past.
A full field of 11 is set to assemble for the $37,500
fifth race on an eight -race program.
