Oceanport, N.J. – Geraldine Kromann’s homebred Hotnslick took command out of the gate and held off all challengers to capture the $55,000 allowance/optional claiming feature at Monmouth Park on Thursday evening by two and a half lengths.

Trained by Lloyd Kromann, Hotnslick covered the mile over a fast main track in 1:39 1/5 and paid $6.60, $3.40 and $2.60 in the field of eight New Jersey-bred fillies and mares.  Gracefully Mean completed the $22.20 exacta and returned $3.60 and $3.  It was another half-length back to First Acquital, who paid $2.80 to show.

“She was feeling good and got a good position right out of the gate,” said winning jockey Angel Serpa.  “Turning for home I asked her for run and she had plenty left in the lane.”

Hotnslick, a 3-year-old by Crafty Friend from the Tabasco Cat mare Sweet Cali Cat, has now won three of seven starts this year.

Live racing continues at Monmouth Park on Friday, Aug. 31 – gates open 11:30 a.m., first post 12:45 p.m.
