Finish Line Farm’s Back Pocket Money sat off the early pace of Unwritten before taking the lead in mid-stretch and holding off the on-coming Quepos for a half-length win in Saturday’s $46,000 allowance/optional claiming feature at Monmouth Park.

Trained by Juan Serey and ridden by apprentice Alice Cartwright, Back Pocket Money covered the six furlongs over a fast main track in 1:10 3/5 and returned $15.60, $7.60 and $3.60 in the field of eight New Jersey-bred colts and geldings.  Quepos completed the $95 exacta and paid $7.20 and $3.40.  It was another 2 ¼ lengths to Unwritten, who returned $3.20 to show.

A 5-year-old by Lion Hearted from the Northern Idol mare She’s Jane, Back Pocket Money earned his second consecutive win and fifth lifetime in the Saturday feature.
