Klaravich Stables and W.H. Lawrence’s Zero Rate Policy cruised to an impressive four-length victory over the muddy main track in Monmouth’s $48,000 allowance/optional claiming feature on Friday.
Trained by Terri Pompay and ridden by Paco Lopez, Zero Rate Policy stopped the timer in an impressive 1:08 2/5 for six furlongs. Dispatched the 4-5 favorite, Zero Rate Policy paid $3.80, $2.60 and $2.20 and topped the $15.80 exacta. Hop Skip and Away rallied from last to finish second and returned $3.40 and $2.60. It was another length and a quarter back to Spirit of Cochise, who paid $2.60 to show.
