Monmouth Park’s final handicapping contest of 2017 was held Saturday, December 30 and the winner was local contest fixture Roger Cettina of Rumson, NJ.

Cettina bested a field that included 188 entries. He turned his starting $150 bankroll into $3,688.35 by betting races from Gulfstream, Aqueduct and Tampa Bay.  Contest players could only bet win, place and/or show and needed to bet a minimum of $15 per race.

By finishing first, Cettina takes home the first place cash prize of $5,000.  In addition, because he is already a double NHC Qualifier, earns an additional $2,500 in lieu of an NHC seat.

Second-place finisher Frank Sorensen and third-place finisher Stephen Luca will be joining Cettina in Las Vegas for the 2018 NHC.
